Unit appears to be well built but I bought it to use for cooking meat. I was surprised to find that one of the three warnings on the packaging was NOT to be used in the oven.

This is exactly what we were looking for after our last thermometer fell on the floor and broke. It is very easy to read, very accurate, inexpensive and much better than our old one. I would absolutely recommend this.

The red pointer slides and does not stay at the desired temperature. I only received it two days ago and Revane says it cannot be returned. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

I used it once to cook a Thanksgiving turkey. After that I flushed it to clean it but it's not waterproof and the sight glass is fogged up. So I put it in the oven hoping the fog would evaporate and it EXPLODE. WTF! See attached picture.

I bought this because when frying frozen food I can't stick a meat thermometer in before it goes in the oven. This instant read is great because I can take out my chicken breast and stick a thermometer in to see if it's done. Then he returns to the "case". Good product and happy with the purchase.

I bought this because I thought it was oven safe. According to the packaging, it is to be used at a maximum of 220° Fahrenheit, which means that it is practically unusable in the oven. I've tried this 3 times on a 1" chicken breast (out of the oven) and 2 times it didn't get past 123 and once it reached 140. The breasts were more than adequately done (overcooked, actually).

Bought brand new and used a week later on Mother's Day. I made a 43.00 rib roast and found that this thermometer wasn't accurate to 10 degrees! I was so disappointed I overcooked the roast! Now Revain says my return window expired 2 days after receipt and I've only used it once! My advice to anyone buying this is to check the temperature with a known accurate thermometer as soon as you receive it.

This thermometer works but I put it in the dishwasher and it got messed up. I guess that's unusual since they claim it's dishwasher safe. Maybe I just got a broken thermometer with a bad seal because the rinse water got in and dirty the dial. There is no way to disassemble and clean, and I don't know if it will work after that. Stainless Steel Meat Thermometer Gr8. The numbers should be bigger, otherwise it would be 5 stars in all "performance ratings". I can read this just fine now if you open the oven door to read this, but then you lose all the heat. If the numbers were bigger, you could read them through the glass. Young eyes may not have this problem, older eyes do. Something in the design of the head unit allows the thermometer needle to constantly detach and run away from you.
