Works well with metric sockets and kits

A little pricey as there is only one thread type, but it is a rare thread. Bring different helicoils and it works as expected. Depending on the application, you will need a wrench or suitable tool to turn and Locktite to glue the coil in place.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Fair

Extensive set at an affordable price

The tool arrived as expected and allowed me to fix the cross-threaded forearm that was blocking my project. It included tools that are usually sold separately with heli coil kits. The only additional tool needed to complete the tool and ensure accurate threading is a T-handle screwdriver. A 10mm socket and socket wrench will do, but they are not ideal for even force distribution.

Pros
  • Easy assembly
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.

That does not work. - Thread repair kit

Following the instructions I drilled a hole and tapped the thread with no problem. Despite spending over an hour trying 4 different inserts, I was unable to screw any of the inserts into the threaded hole. I bought a screw the size of a threaded hole (14m x 1.5) and it went right in. Then I bought a nut the size of a 14m x 1.5 hole. Despite my constant efforts, I was unable to thread the insert into the nut, which confirmed that the inserts were the wrong size. This product absolutely did not…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Good value $$

This thread restorer has worked very well for me. I used it to replace a broken spiral coil installed by the previous owner of my car. Saved me a lot of money not having to buy a new part.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Vanish

Great value complete kit

The tool arrived as expected and allowed me to repair the transversely threaded lower arm that was holding up my project. It included tools that are usually sold separately with heli coil kits. The only additional tool needed to complete the tool and ensure accurate threading is a T-handle screwdriver. A 10mm socket and socket wrench will do, but they are not ideal for even force distribution.

Pros
  • Tools and Equipment
Cons
  • Out of fashion
