    Ideal for many applications!

I used one in the car to auto turn the wipers on and one in the yard to auto turn the water on. The third is still thinking about another application.

    • Hands Free

    • Style 90

No Quality Control - Humidifier Parts and Accessories

The control board had an apparent defect upon delivery. The resistor was only connected on one side. I'll update this review after I re-solder this part and see if the board lights up.

    Pros
    • Useful beyond intended purpose
    Cons
    • Expensive Insurance

    3.3V Not compatible

I have tried this with ESP32 and ESP8266 which supply 3.3V and use 3.3V logic without success. I had to use a boost converter for the power and a voltage divider to get the output in the right range. Don't trust your rain sensor to work at 3.3V.

    Pros
    • Decent performance
    Cons
    • Expensive

All 3 worked fine after I fixed 2 sensor boards. The pins came from the traces so I had to solder a solid wire from the bottom of the pin to the start of the trace on the sensor board. Other than that, they seem to be working fine. I use the analog part to detect the presence of water.

    Pros
    • Looks good
    Cons
    • No automatic

Rainwater is a poor conductor of electricity

Unless it rains dirty in your area, you need to build a circuit that will set off the alarm. Rainwater is a poor conductor of electricity. It is basically distilled water created by the earth's water cycle. There are ways to build a circuit on the internet. It's up to you to do the research and do it. It's easy and cheap and the most fun way to learn!

    Pros
    • It's okay!
    Cons
    • Negative signal present

Easily adapts to humidifier components and accessories

Meets the need for a sensor that can be placed in tight spaces (within a stud wall) to test for moisture ingress. Sensor to use Arduino. Simply use the included wires to connect to an ohmmeter that reads "infinity" or "open circuit" until the drop blocks the traces on the sensor. I wrapped the sensor in the top of a cotton sock to absorb moisture.

    Pros
    • Rugged design
    Cons
    • Transparency

    Soldering is VERY delicate

I read reviews that the soldering isn't the best but I was very surprised when my order arrived and already 2/3 of the sensor solders broke right in the mail. Luckily, the third one only lasted and worked for a few minutes. When I connected the sensor, everything worked. Then I unplugged it and plugged it back in and CANCELED THE THIRD SOLDER! I think I have to return this item but I would really appreciate it if the seller would just send me another one. I'm a little disappointed but I won't…

    Pros
    • cool product
    Cons
    • Something different

Look for loose/broken solder connections on the pins on the sensor board.
