Preferably. screws. Is always.

Really high quality compared to what you get in big shopping malls for example. Fewer counterfeit screws, poorly cut threads, etc. Also, if you've never used square head screws, you'll be delighted. The bit doesn't come out as easily as with a Phillips drive, so you have fewer stripped heads and broken bits. You'll also find that you don't have to push the driver nearly as hard to turn the bolts. Indeed if you don't have a variable torque clutch or your clutch is set too high. , you can…

Pros
  • Stainless steel finish for superior corrosion resistance
Cons
  • Wrinkled fabric

The Hillman Group 48256 #8 x 1 1/2 " Square Drive (#2 drive)

For over 30 years I have been making custom heirloom quality woodwork I can't always "insert and using tenons" joinery, my preferred method, next is dowelling. When using screws I've found the best quality from The Hillman Group, these 1 1/2" are almost perfect for 3/4 to 3 /4 (tilt them slightly so tip doesn't stick out) 1 1/4 works well too, quality steel and plating combined with #2 square shank make for a good strong connection, please drill 1 8" pilot hole in softwood, 5/32" Hardwood…

Pros
  • Ideal for general home repairs
Cons
  • Out of style

However, the screws themselves look nice, and there are 500 of them. They have a brass finish. I had to use them immediately and luckily it was a job that wasn't directly exposed to the harsh weather. I was expecting 18-8 or 304 stainless steel to be exactly what I wanted. I paint over heads anyway. Revain needs to be…
