Great bolts for lag bolts

I really like these bolts especially the flat head size. Very high quality and easy to use. However, Ace Hardware only offers them up to 3 1/2" or 4" and I needed more. I'm glad I was able to get these 6 inch versions of Revain.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Almost never

My move to the screw for strength and reliability.

I've used thousands of these. I've never stripped or broken a screw, but I've mangled tons of T30 bits even on the 2.5" version of these screws! Yes, there is so much strength and traction in the thread and assembly of this screw that the weak point is ALWAYS a bit. If anyone can suggest a better t30 bit please lmk. And whoever said they removed the screw head is clearly using the much more common t25 bit and is just plain clueless.

Inexpensive soft metal in a pleasant bronze color.

I bought 8 from Lowe's to attach a railing to a pole. The first 3 came like clockwork. The next two must have hit the denser part of the post or knot. as soon as a slight resistance was felt, the nozzle tore off the star-shaped hole in the screw head. Now I have two screws with nice round holes and the round head doesn't allow me to use a wrench to fully tighten them. At $2 each, they're not worth it!

Much better than traditional screws/bolts

I've built decks and carports with traditional screws/bolts. After trying these new construction screws on a shed this month I will never go back! They enter surprisingly easily; without pre-drilling. I've used a 1/2" screwdriver (AC), new wood for old wood and new wood for machined 4x4s. I've used 3", 6" and 10" construction screws (HIllman), no problem, no eccentrics . , no splits and 1/4 times the old way. You MUST use the correct size bits for these screws. I think it's a T-40.

Pros
  • Screws
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
