These wooden plugs are not suitable for heavy-duty work, they simply failed to hold up to their claim in my recent job. Industrial and Scientific? Not in my opinion. After I put it to the test, the wooden plugs were not reliable enough to withstand the weight and pressure they were advertised to handle.

Don't know what they're really good for. Nowhere is it specified for which species they are intended. So if you're thinking about comparing them, just guess. I think it's some kind of hardwood but I'm not sure because it doesn't look like oak or maple and it's not actually poplar. Buy the same type and direction of fibers if you don't care if they stick out.

I don't know what they are made of but they are not wood. It looks like some kind of mixture of resin and wood. I have been making cabinets and furniture for over 20 years. My hand tools are sharp enough to shave me. They are touched up with a diamond sharpener before each use. They shave fine oak hair, but it won't fit through these pegs.
