Same price, ยฃ3 less food.

We have been feeding this food to my lab (Big Bag) for many years. However, Hills Science recently updated the packaging design, removing 3 pounds of food from the packaging but keeping the price. Previous bags weighed 33 pounds. New weigh 30 kilos. Not cool. I don't think they changed the ingredients, my dog still seems to like it. And it smells the same (although the shape is different). Just less food in the bag. EDIT NOVEMBER 2019: And now the price is up $4.

Picky Chows LOVE the hills!

My Picky Chow LOVE Hills Science Diet. I've always bought my furry kids good quality food, but apparently one or the other always had diarrhea UNTIL I fed them the Hills. Nobody had anything but a good hard stool. They get dry food every day and sometimes a can of Hill's wet food that literally makes them drool. Hill costs more than the Beel Jacques I fed her, but it's worth every penny. I can say that the "kids" feel better and like it. WE DO IT!

  • Elegant Design

Try science on dry land

I love the hills in general. They invest in nutrition research, not marketing. As a zookeeper, I know this, but veterinarians and pet nutritionists are working to formulate Hills diets to meet all of your pets' needs. I had my dog on the Hills Large Breed and just needed to shed a few pounds. 3/4 of the way through the bag and she's at her ideal weight. I'll leave them at that but increase the amount to a maintenance level because the extra fiber really helped their bowls. I am very impressed.

Pros
  • Great for a small home

Great dry dog โ€‹โ€‹food

I got my Angel 3 years ago as a life saver. She weighed 22 pounds. Although she is an adult (she is a Rottie/Lab mix, a very large dog, now weighs 101 pounds), her leg had to be amputated and she had an intestinal obstruction. I have fed her this brand but first puppy food and then large breed adult food after she gained the right amount of weight. She is now the healthiest dog I have ever had! In the photo she is beaming and she had to take a bath that day. In fact, she always looks like sheโ€ฆ

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Too much filler poo!

I can't believe how much my dog has done with this food. I bought it for the first time. We have been feeding some of our dogs a scientific diet for several years. We switched to a large breed formula for this dog and went on a diet formula to try, but a large breed diet formula has to be full of fillers because my dog has never pooped that much! It's not liquid or anything. Just 3-5 big piles (he usually poops 1-2 times a day) of healthy looking poop every day the same beige color as the food.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • No performance
