Great value for money, greatly improves the digital experience

Thanks to several reviews indicating the correct modem is MMDVM HS_HAT_ (DB9MAT AT DF2ET) for Pi GPIO is, it was easy to set up. Ignore the included instructions for setting up WiFi, now you don't need it. Mine worked right away, no offset or jitter needed to be adjusted. It's slow on the Pi Zero but works well, but the Pi 3 handles the Pi Star much better. OLED Type 3 didn't work for me on the Zero and there is some discussion online about it. I didn't worry about troubleshooting as the…

Something works but poorly

Received this unit in less than 24 hours after ordering, excellent service. But spend a lot of time to get it working. The instructions are pretty much useless. So if you've never used a hotspot like this before, get help or watch a YouTube video on what to do. I didn't know about the need to adjust the transmit and receive frequencies in the PSTAR program, I realized this when I saw a sticker on the inside of the box for -200. But I haven't changed anything, no connection to my DMR radio. So I

On 3b+ everything seems fine with PiStar for DMR

I put it on 3b+ I had lying around (note that with 3b+ you need to use pistars v4rc), PiStar loaded and was good to go. I didn't have to adjust the frequency offsets. There was enough clearance between the exposed pins and the pi pins that I didn't have to "insulate" like the manual says. The status LEDs are overly bright, much brighter than the old ones. I think it's not a problem if you don't create a clear case around this thing. Please note that the included pistar instructions regarding…

Pi-Star Access Point Easy assembly

I used this board for a Pi-Star Access Point. I've used it on both Raspberry Pi 4 and Raspberry Pi Zero WH and it worked better on both. I finally decided to keep the hotspot I created with the Pi Zero WH and use the Pi 4 for something else. This board works equally well on both, although the Pi Star web interface is slower on the Pi Zero WH. The display pins turned out to be short so I didn't have to worry about cutting them to avoid hitting the Pi GPIO pins. It was easy to connect, download…

The board does not work on VHF.

This is my second attempt to get what I ordered. After the second board didn't work, I researched this product to see if I was missing something. Found a question about whether it works on FM and the answer was no. Wrote the seller, no reply. In addition to this product, UHF and VHF are defiantly written. Now I've run out of money I spent on all the related products I bought for this board!
