Bought for a gift. Got it installed and noticed that the device sends a small current to the bulb even when it's off. This doesn't make it so good with LED bulbs. This small current makes the light shine, so the remote control does not turn off the light. You still have to pull the chain to turn off the light. Type defeats the purpose of the remote control. THIS WORKS with regular incandescent bulbs, but not with LEDs.

Very easy installation, all colors match, all required swivel connectors included, only thing I had to put in extra was my own 9v battery but I've read that Batteries are not included. when buying, so no wonder. It looks great and the resulting block hides the ceiling box well. I like how each wire has been marked where it goes. Perfect in every way and cheaper and easier than upgrading the entire fan/light - a simple addition.

Easy to install and works great. Please note that this unit is designed for ceiling fans with top and bottom lights. This confused me when ordering. I assumed that the "light up" button should have been brighter and the "light down" button should have been dimmed. nope It turns on and adjusts dimming for 2 separate light sources. It wasn't a problem because I just put a nut on the top light wire and connected the low light wire. It was a great price for a light and fan controller.

I lost my original fan remote, this replacement is identical to the one that came with it. You must program the remote to "hear" the fan. After inserting the battery, there are four small switches inside.
