It's been a year with the heat shields

And this tape still sticks and looks just as good when applied. I used to seal seams on aluminized fiberglass insulation on the transmission cooling lines that run very close to the V8's long pipe heads. Works better than expected

Pros
  • . Great for me
Cons
  • I'm worried

Waste of money for heat shields

Didn't really help block heat. I bought this to protect the underside of our Polaris Ranger seat from the heat but it didn't help at all. I then ordered a heat-insulating umbrella for a few euros more and got a huge roll that served its purpose. It was a waste of money

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Reduced inlet temp by 10 degrees in 90+ weather

Initial use on my plastic CAI pipe was amazing. It started to loosen after the first heating cycle. I ended up stretching the ribbon with mechanical wire to hold it in place. By the way, I prepared the pipe by completely degreasing the surfaces and removing all burrs/body lines.

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Null

Great Tape: Heat Shields

I looked up this tape at other auto parts stores. I installed a generator tailpipe extension in my shed so I needed to make sure I could conduct heat away from combustible items. This tape is great, cheap, strong and sticks well to all surfaces. I've only run the generator a couple of times so I don't know how it will perform when heated for an extended period of time. The time will show.

Pros
  • GOLS Certification
Cons
  • Approximately

Perfect if your bulbs are melting your body

Used this in my taillights because the running lights were literally melting and ripping the body around it. It was very easy to use. Because it's so stiff, I was able to trim it to fit and fit the case without it folding weirdly or getting stuck where it shouldn't. Should help somewhat with overall reflection/light output as well as heat retention, so this is perfect for my application

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Older model
