The design of the clasp/buckle system is very cool and the fact that it closes tight is just great. Much better than straps that adjust by adjusting tension through friction alone. This clamps a nylon strap and does not slip at all. A NOTICE. Some people seem to think that they need to cut off the tapered end of the belt and then reshape it to get the right length. NO! Revised: After using it for a while I changed my mind. I now find these buckles acceptable and even superior to the military style metal roller buckles. But apparently these non-metal buckles are only available in black. I recommend these straps and buckles. I did not receive anything for changing my rating. What about the belt? I like them because the width is perfect for Dickies work pants, these belt loops do not fit the more standard 1.5" wide men's belts. These Hoanan's I received were 1.22 inches wide, although another reviewer said their strap was narrower. I bought these mainly because of the original high quality 1.25" YKK folding buckle which is almost impossible to find online or in other stores.
