probably better for car repairs

At least for me 7018 sticks need pure steel and a lot more juice to get started, they offer a nicer weld surface than 6013 probably, better for machine repairs.

Pros
  • 70,000 PSI tensile strength
Cons
  • crumpled

Mismatched length doesn't matter because it sucks

Length varies up to about 3 inches They're only good if you want the sticks to stick to the material with each pass , or if you want to make welds that contain only slag.

Pros
  • Not recommended for low voltage AC welders
Cons
  • I'll add later

Not for use with AC welder

These sticks have been advertised and labeled as suitable for use with AC or DC welders. However, the bars were NOT marked 7018AC. They will not work with an AC welder. My friend tried them on his DC welder and they worked well. Don't buy them expecting they will work with an AC welder. Make sure you only buy this type of rod if the rod number specifically includes "7018AC".

Pros
  • Runs on AC or DC polarity (reverse)
Cons
  • Damaged
