BMW has the worst cup holders in the world. The one I broke (just a small spring) but to fix it required removing the entire dash which cost about $500. This solved the problem with a stronger bracket that didn't ruin the dashboard aesthetics too much.

We bought an old BMW with folding cup holders. They didn't hold anything so it was a good alternative. Are they great, no, but they're better than nothing! They are definitely holding a water bottle. The holder is low and the holes are small. So things fall out or don't fit. But then again, it's still better than nothing.

I think all e39 owners know the difficulties OEM cup holders face. This is a very good answer for that. When I saw this I knew it would be forever for me so I taped it but you can use double sided tape or whatever you want to really secure it in place. Fits all regular fast food cups and anything else as long as they aren't very wide. Very nice addition, will be updated over time.

My car actually uses a flip up cup holder but this fist fits perfectly in an empty compartment. It, and it didn't cost an arm and a leg like the original retractable, which costs anywhere from ninety-eight to over three hundred dollars if you buy brand new from the factory. No thank you. This one costs about fourteen dollars or less, I don't remember exactly, and works just as well. The only reason I give it four stars is because it's not clean. But it is not necessary for me.
