This instrument will read slightly too high when the temperature is between 65 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit. 2 or 3 degrees for a reading that should have been 77 degrees, and the same error for a skin temp of around 91. For $13, that's not bad. Haven't tried it for low temperatures or for hotter cooked food yet. It agrees well with some other instruments at temperatures up to 130 or so. This is an excellent device for measuring the overall temperature of very cold or hot surfaces (with a range of -58°F to 1022°F which is definitely my area of interest) . This is of course not very accurate, at best +-2C (approx. +-4F) is given. From my testing, this is about what I found.
