This device has a slightly high reading for temperatures between 65 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit. 2 or 3 degrees for a reading that should have been 77 degrees, and the same error for a skin temp of around 91. For $13, that's not bad. I haven't tried it at low temperatures or hotter cooked food. It agrees well with some other instruments at temperatures up to 130 or so. Make sure the ambient temperature isn't interfering with your readings with one of these inexpensive IR thermometers.
