Very easy setup. I accidentally ordered it while trying to order a mini but I'm glad I got this one instead because it's so quiet and easy to use. I just wish there were more than two humidifier control modes to reduce the amount of air produced.

The instructions say to plug it in and the green light comes on. After switching on there is no green light, but only glows or flashes red (which is not mentioned in the instructions). I filled the basin with water and put it in and nothing happened for several hours.

After only a few hours of running our Holmes HM411 humidifier, the threads on the supply top cap broke rendering the humidifier unusable. We contacted Holmes for a cover replacement and were informed that parts for this model were no longer available. We now know that Holmes products should be avoided in the future due to the lack of quality and product support.
