Good bottle, poor cap

The glass bottle is strong and of good quality. Quality made, the glass is thick, arrived safe and sound. The included airlock is also decent and works flawlessly. However, the rubber stopper is practically useless. It doesn't "stick" to the neck of the jug or form a snug fit. You squeeze and twist it in place, but it rises again, breaking the seal and letting air through. Assuming you have another cork handy, this is a good deal for a lock and bottle, but I wouldn't waste time getting this…

Buy another gateway installation

The cork that comes with this jar is not securely attached and has no screw top. I completely dried the cork and neck of the jug and the cork proved problematic. to stay safe in the bottleneck. Also, the sluice nearly ran out of water in less than a week, so my honey is vinegar now. I blame this on the gateway installation. I filled the lock completely with water but most of the water squeezed out when attaching to the jug as the cork wouldn't stay in place. Once the sluice is in place I don't…

Problems with the stopper and the gateway.

I bought a couple of these bottles with corks and double bubble tops to make mead. The bottles arrived on time and in good condition. Good thick glass, strong handle. No problem. "Double Bubble Locks" were not included. I have a few cheaper single chamber types but again that's not a big deal as they fit securely in the stoppers and keep bacteria out. Unfortunately, the supplied rubber stoppers do not fit snugly into the bottle opening. I filled the bottle with all the ingredients, went to…
