Buy another gateway installation

The cork that comes with this jar is not securely attached and has no screw top. I completely dried the cork and neck of the jug and the cork proved problematic. to stay safe in the bottleneck. Also, the sluice nearly ran out of water in less than a week, so my honey is vinegar now. I blame this on the gateway installation. I filled the lock completely with water but most of the water squeezed out when attaching to the jug as the cork wouldn't stay in place. Once the sluice is in place I don't know how more water can be added to this design as opposed to other sluice designs. Also, this lock just doesn't hold much water. So if your stuff bubbles too much and for too long considering the water is on the wrong side of the lock and it's warm, you can lose it. Although the glass bottle is good. Looking back, I would have bought the exact same bottle. with a screw cap and make your own airlock with other parts instead of this kit if cheaper or the same price. I lost $18 honey due to this airlock issue, so it's definitely worth the extra investment if you're serious. Get the best airlock.
