When I first used a knife to cut a pineapple, I couldn't understand why it didn't cut well! I look and see that the metal is in two parts and the pineapple is sandwiched between the two parts of the blade. I will send it back immediately.

Okay this is a $20 set so don't expect Japanese quality knives. However, this set will definitely last a while. A few years if you cook occasionally. If I were a mom or dad and had kids I would probably invest in something "real" but the concept is great. The stand is excellent, albeit plastic.

This is a beautiful set of knives and the knives work very well. The slim design of the holder does not take up much space, but at the same time your knives are always at hand. If you don't have a lot of counter space but don't want to rummage around in your drawer for a knife, this set is perfect. It looks great on our predominantly black granite countertops against a brown stone backsplash. I would definitely buy this product again!

A very good set of knives. Sharp blades, very durable and look very elegant and modern! My favorite part of a knife set is the finger guard. Once I cut off a piece of a finger or nail so it's very nice. I like the knife sharpener too. I used to just swap out my knives when they got dull, but now I expect a little more life from them. Beautiful and a gift!

Love these knives! As long as they are sharp and working well. I like the knife block very much, due to its small shape it doesn't take up much space on the counter and it also looks very nice. Haven't had to try the sharpener yet, but once I do I'll update my review on that part of it. While I love these knives, I got rid of the other large knife block I had on my counter because that's all I need for cooking and they take up a lot less space.

I live alone and rarely cook. In the short time I've used it (mostly just cooking meat) it worked decently, but the blade dulled and chipped quickly. It just doesn't fit right now (pun intended). Premium design/appearance but dollar shop quality. The problem is that anything that comes off on the lining/lid will stick to the food I'm cooking and I'm worried I might choke on it. Who knows what chemicals are in the feed. Bad product.

My husband and I love this knife set. Not only are the blades sharp but easy to clean, the stand itself is unique and I don't mind seeing it on the counter even when the knives are not in use. The stand is made of clear acrylic that holds each knife in a fan shape. It's very different from the traditional wooden block (I didn't realize that in the photo they look how they look on the stand; at first I thought that's how they were photographed).
