This bar came in a half sized box of about 120 pounds and was well packaged. I had no damage or scratches on any of the panels. The instructions were fine and easy enough to follow, if you've ever assembled Ikea furniture or similar you won't have a problem here, just pay close attention to how the panels line up in the pictures. I really had no problem assembling the block (just give yourself enough space and follow the instructions) and it would have been done in about 1.5 hours BUT one of the main pieces of wood (#12) wasn't pre-drilled properly. Body made of chipboard with thin mahogany veneer. Quality or lack is comparable to your average Swedish ready-to-assemble furniture. When the closet and shelves are filled with bottles and jars, it doesn't look bad. Assembly took a few hours. There were a few errors in the instructions, but it was pretty basic. This unit is reliable and well made above average for a do-it-yourself deal. It looks great in our corner and has a surprising amount of storage space. However, there were some bumps in the "Get it here" part. When the package arrived, I expected it to be a large, solid box with a padded wall between the box and the parts inside; What I received was a not-so-large box with all corners crumpled and *split* pieces of mahogany-finish chipboard and fiberboard that appeared to be packed back-to-back
