I keep this on a small shelf so that it is my equal. I'm an HVAC specialist and know how they work. I would definitely recommend this cooler in lower humidity environments. When the humidity is high, it's basically just a fan. Ok the fan works fine, the remote works fine if you live in a low humidity area, it works great and cools you down as long as it's pointed at you. Use the remote control to point the louvers straight at you, or swing them around to cover the entire room. You don't have to open a window or door to cool the room. Based on the product photos I assumed the line on the bottom front was a water drawer and was glad it was big enough for me to put ice packs in the water instead of ice cubes.
