Description of Adjustable Stainless Steel Planers for Effective Honing and Sharpening

Our stainless steel honing guide is painted with a blue anti-corrosive finish for longer life and a more elegant look. All standard sharpening angles can be achieved using this sharpening jig by adjusting the tool projection. Self centering and fully adjustable, this sharpening guide fits chisels from 1/8” to 1-7/8” in width, and plane irons from 1-3/8” to 3-1/8” in width. Our Honing Tool features a hardened steel roller wheel which will not wear down over time or develop flat spots. The body of the chisel sharpener is crafted from durable cast aluminum.

difficult conditions. Works well. A few improvements would be nice.

I use it to sharpen chisels and flats. The product is heavy and serves its purpose. I wish the thread faces were a little cleaner as they are prone to seizing. I also wish the grip grooves had a different geometry - there are some tools that take longer to get a consistent fit.

Pros
  • Grease 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive

Really terrible tool.

This is just a terrible tool. I waited a while, used it a few times and tried to give it a fair shot. But: it is poorly made and sloppily assembled. It is difficult to clamp the chisel; The suggested settings (numbers for the side loft) are incorrect. After clamping the bit, the two sides remain misaligned. The steering wheel is not centered! It's impossible to keep the chisel flat on the stone - it swings left and right. I will buy better. I suggest you do the same.

  • Best
Cons

Poor quality, concept work needed

I tried sharpening a couple of chisels and it worked great with the 1 1/2" and 1" chisels I have , but not very well on 1/2" and 1/4". The top clamp is good and strong, but if your chisel won't fit in the top clamp you will need to use the bottom clamp. The bottom clamp has a funny shape and actually pushes the chisel out when tightened. If not tightened enough, the chisel will still slip out. The material is of poor quality and a better clamp is needed for smaller chisels. Wouldn't recommend…
