Truly amazing performance, especially for the price!

At only a third the price of the top rated 2 inch drill press on Amazon, this hole saw is a beast! saw, and its body appears to be either sintered or forged. It comes in a nice case with TWO center drill bits and an Allen key. 1/8 inch durable stainless steel. Using a low speed drill and plenty of cutting fluid, this hole saw drilled through the floor in less than five minutes, leaving very smooth hole edges that required no further work other than grinding the sharp edges of the hole. Cuts SECC steel like a master.

SECC: Commercial Grade Electrogalvanized Cold Rolled Steel. Commonly used in ATX computer cases from the 90's and early 2000's. For modern cases, I'm not sure. My understanding is that "cold rolled" is harder than standard steel, but I'm not a metals expert, not even a bit. I needed this for a specific purpose, using my Ryobi cordless drill to cut a 120mm hook into an old computer case. Keeping the revs high and not pushing too hard seemed to be the key. In any case, the drill I have doesn'tโ€ฆ

The large sizes are really off-putting. don't hurt yourself

I bought a 120mm (4.72") saw to cut some fan holes in 3/16" sheet aluminum. I was hoping I could use a hand drill and move slowly to get through and make some holes. But even with the drill in low gear and holding on with all my might (Very Mighty Man), I couldn't hold her when she decided to grab. Both center drills broke in less than 60 seconds, replaced with a 1/4" screw. as a centering guide as it is not as brittle as HSS center drills. Strong pressure pierces and breaks wrist immediatelyโ€ฆ

Pros

  • Unbelievable price
