I used this mold to make loofah soap. I put the loofah pieces in first, then poured 4 ounces of soap into each mold. I use a transparent base without detergent. The loofah pieces were large so they stretched out the shape, but the soap bars can still stand on their own. Thus, 4 ounces of soap and loofah pieces weighing 0.30 to 0.50 ounces are placed in the mold. I tried pouring about 4.5 ounces into the mold and it fit!

The shape isn't perfectly straight, the bottom and walls of each cavity have waves, I thought the soap was heavy enough to smooth them out but toot To my disappointment the soap took shape indirect sides and bottom. this is how all my soaps came out with waves and dents instead of perfect rectangles, which is very annoying because I bought them to make rectangular soaps. Now I have a wobbly rectangular bar of soap. Very disappointed

Great soap molds! Note, however, that your soap will most likely gel in these forms in quick cure recipes. The edges tend to curl up (even once!) from this mold, but like most sequins, it's hard to get rid of. 1lb recipes tend to work perfectly, if you don't want to add texture, 1.3lb recipes work great. The rods are small but perfect for a guest room sink or as a gift.

I like these shapes but I don't like them. Thinner silicone - and they're thin! - I find it much easier to have dents in the soap base when they need to be moved or when I take the mold out. I've had more success using them for really hard bars like my 50% salt bars. But the softer, more "normal" rod takes forever to get hard enough to pick. My stronger molds definitely come off easier. BUT, they are great and when used with a little care they make good bars of soap. I have small hands and some
