Set this thing up this weekend, works great. It has enough power for recirculation and gearing and will probably be decent enough for a hot tub. Although I really like it, it's quiet. The built-in switch definitely simplifies multiple transmissions. I like that the head is movable too. As a starter pump I would say this is a great buy!

Pump received the next day after ordering. Tested for water, works 10 minutes with no leaks. Probably not powerful enough for a hot tub, but should work fine for transfers and circulation. The switch is good, but I would probably prefer the foot control. It would also be nice if it was self-priming, but I knew what was going on. Overall this is a pretty good pump for the price. Let's see how long this lasts.

Upgraded pump from 2.1 GPM to 5 GPM for transfer, recirculation and hot tubs. He has a good flow. Lift height isn't as good as I was hoping, but I think that's ok. Use it to raise the wort 5 feet for recirculation and whirlpool. There were some issues at first and I had to cut the hose off, but after that it got a lot better. It actually came with a strange mysterious substance that was sticking/melting down on the cord. The wiring is not visible, so safe. Doesn't interfere with work.

A good pump and power switch are great additions. The fact that it comes with an SS head was great. I paid $69. If the price is higher, please be patient as the price will be the same again. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I don't plan on rotating the pump, I want it to be portable. It doesn't have little rubber feet, and if you add a valve, the stand doesn't distribute the weight, so it leans forward. It looks like it was really meant to be screwed in place. Updating my original rating (below), I'm increasing my rating to four stars simply because the company has achieved outstanding customer service. Apparently there were some communication issues between Revain and the seller, but once these were resolved the company graciously responded with a pump replacement and assistance in returning the original. The replacement should arrive this week and I look forward to using it on my next brew day. Look for a five star rating if the product continues…

I have one of the original 110v Grainfather brew systems that I bought in 2014. parts to fail. The pump will likely be the first fault (at least I assume so). In late 2019 I bought this pump on sale here at Revain and put it aside for when I need it. Last Sunday the factory pump died during the mashing process.
