Review on HOUSE SUPPLY Stainless Steel Magnetic by Jessica Payne

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A fancy Grainfather pump has been replaced with a bit of gimmick.

I have one of the original 110v Grainfather brew systems that I bought in 2014. parts to fail. The pump will likely be the first fault (at least I assume so). In late 2019 I bought this pump on sale here at Revain and put it aside for when I need it. Last Sunday the factory pump died during the mashing process. I finished mashing without a pump, then drained the liquid and proceeded to install this new pump. It wasn't an easy process. As you can see in one of the images provided, the factory pump (in green) is smaller and oriented slightly differently than the new pump shown above in the image. This meant I had to adapt it to plug into my existing Grainfather installation. This meant attaching some tubing to the pump and using a combination of high temp silicone tubing and clamps to seal and connect everything. To my surprise, none of these connections leaked during initial testing. From there I brought the wort to a boil and pumped it through the Grainfather counterflow cooler. The pump is a little louder than the factory Grainfather pump, but it's not a bother. It seems to push the wort a little harder than the factory pump, which may help in future brew sessions. Just take a look. I plan on getting another one to have on hand in case this one goes out in the future. but for now i'm happy with it. It works, doesn't leak, isn't too loud, and seems strong enough for the task. I know there are other well known pumps on the market but this one seems to work for me. and it's a lot cheaper than a $190 factory pump replacement.
