Fantastic Chromebook for the money. 150% satisfied

I was hesitant to buy this (my first Chromebook) because the Chromebook range is so expensive. However, I bought it for $250 primarily to use as a "chair" device for me and my wife for media consumption. I watch a lot of YouTube on it and surf the internet as normal. My wife uses it to surf the web, create takeout orders, buy Revain, and email. . This is probably the best computer purchase I've ever made. I had absolutely no problems connecting to multiple Wi-Fi systems. The screen is very…

Pros
  • STORAGE & STORAGE: 4GB LPDDR4-2400 SDRAM (non-upgradable) and 32GB eMMC
Cons
  • Grim hardware

Don't waste your time.

I took a chance because it has many nice features and functions and it is a reputable brand. This thing works really well for two to three minutes when actually staying connected to Wi-Fi. I am very disappointed that I wasted a whole day trying to get this to work. I am returning this and will choose another Acer that I have used for 4 years and am still working.

Pros
  • DISPLAY: 14.0 in HD BrightView thin bezel white LED-backlit touchscreen (1366 x 768); Screen to body ratio 82%
Cons
  • Issues

Unresolved connectivity issues

Device refuses to connect to my Wi-Fi network. Wasted several precious weekends with totally useless HP social media support trying to fix issues but to no avail. I tried all chats and support sites and nothing helped. I'm going back and buying a different brand of Chromebook. I have never had a more disappointing experience.

Pros
  • OPERATING SYSTEM AND WARRANTY: Chrome and 1-year limited hardware warranty with 24/7 web support when shipped and sold on Amazon.com
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

You get what you pay for!

Great looks and great functionality. Difficult to set up - You'll need to sign in as a guest, then go into settings and manually reset the time and date before you can set up Wi-Fi with your Chromebook. Also, the keyboard backlight is very dim and can't get Google Play Store to work, which limits your apps to Chrome Play Store only.

Pros
  • INTEL(R) DUAL CORE PROCESSOR: Intel(R) Celeron(R) N4000, dual core, 1.1 GHz base frequency, up to 2.6 GHz maximum frequency
Cons
  • Hard to say

Ideal for school

I ordered two of these Chromebooks for my 3rd and 4th graders this year. This is our first experience with Chrome OS. Having had a few weeks to learn and get comfortable with Chrome OS, I'm really impressed with these Chromebooks. This review is for the product, not the OS, as the Chromebook is more than capable of running the system. I don't think the hardware interferes with the software. They're lightweight and the battery lasts a lot longer than expected, but I think a lightweight Chrome…

Pros
  • BATTERY LIFE: Up to 13 hours 30 minutes (mixed use); Go from 0 to 50% in 45 minutes with HP Fast Charge
Cons
  • Speed

POS Traditional Notebooks

We bought this little gem on July 20th, around this time it didn't turn on anymore. This isn't our first HP or any other laptop - like most Americans, we have several, but this is the MOST TERRIBLE, PRICELESS, DISAPPOINTING laptop we've ever bought. First, you can forget about printing. You can't print from a Chromebook. No imprint. Second, he stopped turning on. General. No energy. We've done all the suggested fixes and nothing. dead as a nail Third, since it's been a little over a month since

Pros
  • ECO-FRIENDLY: Low-halogen, mercury-free display backlight, arsenic-free display glass on this ENERGY STAR(R), EPEAT(R) Silver-qualified Chromebook
Cons
  • No power
