Great for aluminium. And my finger

Great little bits. I used them to cut thin aluminum and they went straight through. I also used them to grind my finger. It was all my fault and that's a story for another day, but they cut human flesh pretty well.

Cuts 1.6mm 6061 aluminum sheet like a master (just set the right speed and feed!)

For cutting a 1.6mm thick piece of aluminium. Without lubrication, at about 12000 rpm, one broke after about 5-10 minutes. With cutting fluid (Tapmatic Natural because it's not hazardous waste) the first cut took about an hour (at 275mm/min, depth of cut 0.35mm). The second finished the project as champion. These are really great little cutters.

Fatal error. Update: more broken!

UPDATE: Later tonight. I made the stupid mistake of stealing a box of end mills from my workbench and now I only have three (possibly usable) end mills left. They all burst at the same moment. Don't get me wrong, dropping a machine is bad news, but I've never seen anything as fragile as this. Too much material was removed at the top of the groove (right at the end of its working length), causing 3/10ths of the bits to snap right there, no matter how conservative the toolpath was. I don'tโ€ฆ
