We love having this for our dog. I bought a separate joint that allows for some stretch when it reaches the end of its line. All in all this is a great product. And the included extended leash is also great for training.

My husky pulled everything out of the ground. Took it off because it was caught on the leash. Crawled under our house and got so tangled we had to cut the leash from his neck. Husky weighs 70 pounds so he didn't have to pull him out of the ground. I don't recommend it

Don't think you're buying a cable, it's an exercise line and you use a U-clip to attach to your base. There is no clip on each end to stick to the dog. Confusing, but we'll see how the rubbing against the fabric on the U-clip continues after it's been pulled and wound up. Fingers crossed. The photo is deceptive, a clip on the base and a clip on the dog. FALSE advertisement for this installation.

I bought this for an anchor and it's great. I screwed it into wood instead of nails because I didn't think it would hold up the Akita, especially after rain. However, if you have a large dog, like me, the leash comes off very easily (a bite on mine) and tears off. I only used it until the heavy duty came and highly recommend buying a separate leash for it.

Bought for my dogs to use at our seasonal campsite. My husband actually bought screws and screwed them into our deck to make sure they didn't fall out. Used for the first time today, great! I have 4 dogs but have used it with my 52lb lab mix. The leash that came with my other dogs tried to chew so I'll probably use it with a cable leash instead, but other than that I'm very happy with it.

I will give a 5 star rating because the packaging and product was excellent. I bought two of these because we had just moved to the country and weren't sure if our dogs would walk for miles across the acreage. It turns out they don't leave the porch because they're scared of corn stalks (so that's a good thing I guess). Very good quality and would buy again in the future if it turned out we needed one and didn't have the corn stalks to keep the dogs at bay.

My dog kept pulling his crooked floor strap out of the floor. No matter how safe we think it is. He also got caught on the chain and often got stuck. I saw this product and decided to try it. The husband said it would never hold him back. On this day the bets were settled. My husband lost. Only 4 stars because the line attachment is a joke. My dog would chew it easily if left to his own devices. It requires galvanized steel, and even then they sometimes break after a while.

This was an emergency purchase as our dog went into heat before we could fix her. Of course, that meant our dog had lost his mind and couldn't get away from her.
