Sturdy, well made, comfortable

They are very well made. I like layers and I have a few pieces with strap holes. They allow you to quickly detach, add or remove a seat belt layer and reattach the seat belt to the tree, minimizing the time and noise of detaching. I love my HSS strap but without it you have to undo the wooden strap to add/remove layers.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Heavy Duty Big Bore Carabiner

is a great functional carabiner for those who need a reliable carabiner with large capacity and weight, with a large hole for attaching to trees or other uses. We wanted exactly this model for the short rope that connects the two parts of the climbing pole. It was the only high-capacity, wide-mouth variant that fit the bill. a bit pricey - but - it was exactly what we wanted and needed!

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Operating Speed

same price as a quality climbing carabiner but not for climbing

I bought these not knowing anything about carabiners. They are suitable for holding some weight but are not rated, meaning they cannot be used for safety or climbing. For $7 to $15 apiece, you can buy US-made climbing carabiners at any outdoor store, which work just as well for small deployment tasks as a keychain or can be used for rescue purposes.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Protection

Ideal for hanging swings from trees

I didn't buy them for climbing and I have no mountaineering or climbing experience. Instead, I bought these to use with my kids' tree swings. We used a 10 foot tree swing strap, which was the longest I could find, but the branch height still required about 20 feet of chain. The strap came with a good quality carabiner but I needed it to attach the chain to the swivel and the swivel to the mesh swing rings. They worked great and I liked the lock feature for added security.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
