Perfect for Disaster/Emergency Preparedness Kit

I received these in the mail today and ordered them to keep filtered drinking water in my fridge due to Hurricane Florence. I would order a few more! They're a little pricey, but they're worth it considering what I can use them for, and they're so easy to fold up for later storage (best alternative to giant bottles taking up closet space). I suppose having them on hand is also better than fighting everyone at the grocery store for what's left of the water supplies. I put two of these in the…

Compatible with Katadyn BeFree

I really liked the Katadyn BeFree filtration system, but I didn't like that they only offer 0.6L or 1.0L bottles. A collapsible bottle is good for this system, mostly because you want to squeeze every last drop of water out of it. I tried another bottle of Hydrapak (0.7L) which still seemed too small (and leaked at the junction between mouthpiece and bottle) - I filled it more often than I would have liked. So I called Katadyn and asked about my options. You referred me to the Hydrapak Finder…

Arg. The leak happened a mile from backpacking! At first glance, one suspects that this could be its weak point. On the Pictured Rocks North Country Trail, backpacking 40 miles. After the first kilometer I can feel the water running down my leg. Remove packaging and locate leaks from HydraPak 3L. See image. Disheartening because the shuttle dropped me off and left, I had to walk 40 miles in 3 days. Couldn't fill the HydrPak more than 2/3 full because the travel motion of the backpack and bag…

Extra safety and extra litres!

Just finished a two day hike on the Laurel Highland Trail in western Pennsylvania. I was looking for something that could hold extra liters to filter through my Katadyn BeFree Gravity Filter and then found it actually fit the filter! Found this used as new for $14 at Revain and it arrived unused. On the first and second night, both water pumps in the shelters were not producing enough water, allowing me to draw water from local streams through Hydrapak's wide opening. I took it with me and…
