Ibera PakRak Commuter Bicycle Carrier Review

The only thing I don't like about this product is how it matches the specially designed Rak Pak. In order to have enough space to attach puck to it, I had to raise the seat so high I almost can't get on! And I'm 5'11 so I don't look like a shrimp or anything. If the rak was a little longer the pak wouldn't interfere with the seat. I love it though, even though it can literally be a pain in the ass!

Works great on big posts, not great on 25.4mm posts but works. With a 25.4mm seatpost, it will move slightly if you bump into it, but until you bump into it, it stays in place. I was able to solve this problem by cutting an extra piece of rubber from the pipe and adding it to the rubber that came with the kit to make it more solid. I've just started using this rack, so I may have to change this review. But so far I like it. It was easy to mount to a 27.2mm seatpost with the included rubber pad. I provided a metric hex wrench and bought a stainless steel tension washer for the bolt holding it together. I also attached a plastic cup to the post and ran a spring cord between the post and the seat with moderate tension. I installed this on my 20" Retrospec Judd folding bike which does not have holes for a standard rear bike rack. I contacted the company and they said I don't have a solution so Revain has an amazing one. This bracket is easy to mount on the seat post. No additional screws are required. It's solid and won't move once properly installed. This is a great seatpost for bikes. I have this and a Blackburn SPX-1 Ultimate seatpost that I hooked up to another bike. I use both racks but prefer the Ibera SPX as the Ibera has several advantages. Firstly, the fixing mechanism is very smart, so the bike can be easily installed and removed with 1 screw.
