IBOLT Aluminum 3 Review

Quality product at a reasonable price. Very similar to the ram mounts I've used and cost a little less. After receiving it I bought another one and will probably buy more to install GPS on my various motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles.

Used to repair devices in the motor home. This iBolt item was used as part of a system to hold the phone and GPS on an RV dashboard. They were bolted to the dashboard, and during the three-week trip, the devices never had to be adjusted. I used an adapter plate, a double plug-in arm and an adapter ball for each device.

Rivals RAM in fit and finish. I installed this with RAM X-Mount and found this product to work great in unison with RAM. I like this product because it's cheaper than RAM and works great. I installed it on a RAM X mount on a Yamaha FJR 1300; attached to the clutch reservoir bracket. Plastics work just as well as aluminum.

Manufactured as required. Keep in mind that adding this length will decrease stiffness depending on the mount. There is nothing against this special piece, just the nature of the animal. I needed this length to mount a cup holder (I didn't want to drill into the dash so some loss of rigidity was acceptable) from my tablet console to clear the dash. would recommend.

I ordered a 6" double socket iBolt lever. The packaging was labeled accordingly, but the hand itself was a version of Arkon. The handle was marked Arkon. Compared to the Arkon hand I already had. It was exactly the same. They probably got the packaging and the product mixed up somewhere. The hand works fine. Same quality as any other aluminum hand. The only difference is that the surface is smooth and not textured. They all seem to cost about the same.

Probably works but doesn't have an internal spring to keep parts connected and adjustable like a ram. It's just a cheap copy made by Chicom that doesn't work like a ram mount. Can't last long if you attach it to Ram ball mount. Without a connecting compression spring, the mount cannot clamp another ball when released. This was supposed to be for a portable speaker mounted on my bike and I'm going to take it off the boat before using this thing. The screw for the clamp parts doesn't hold…
