Very difficult to assemble. No written instructions. videos only The video does not show which screws the wing is attached to. As long as I'm not too handy, the assembly took two hours. I found that it doesn't attach to the seatpost or stays. The problem was that the parts were assembled incorrectly. When I found this out, I swapped the support post/seatpost connectors. Once installed it seems stable but I'll wait to test it.

So I got that for several reasons. One for extra luggage (obviously) I could carry and one to add a fender to my bike. This is a great stand and does the job well. Here's a subtlety: if you have cables (brake or derailleur) that run along the frame, the struts designed for them will interfere, since they are clamped to the frame. I didn't dare to pick up this rack when I first saw it. Buying from Amazon can suck at times, but it was definitely a win. I have a carbon fat bike that I got a discount on as a bike mechanic. EDIT: The side rails (to keep bags and such from swinging on your bike) are quite short so many basket bags can't be attached to them including mine. They are also not made at right angles to the rack itself, they are very difficult to install but they are not secured with fasteners so who knows if they will ever pop out due to an impact. There is also no option to mount a rear light, only this nifty reflector. The levers had to be set at an extreme angle to clear the cables for the rear brakes

As others have said this is a really customizable stand. It's also much stronger than my previous rack, which bolted directly to the frame. At one point a bolt on the old post broke and I was never able to replace it. Looking back, I could probably find a replacement screw at a hardware store, but that was a few years ago.
