icom Best in Marine Electronics

put it in my boat. Works perfectly. Nice and compact. Suitable for limited space. Goes further than the original radio.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • boring packaging

Just what we needed

My friend and I bought them on wheels and they worked great. We used them for probably over 10 hours straight where there was absolutely no cell service and we had a great clear connection. Didn't really test the range, but we got a decent connection at about 2 miles (houses, trees, fields, etc.) up a mountainside/peak, they worked great.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Expensive

Works great and is very compact

It determines latitude/longitude coordinates when you plug it into a chartplotter - the description directs you towards it working as a standalone device, but this model will do it Not. I love how compact it is, how well it transmits weak signals, how clear it is when transmitting and all the other features. It was very easy to install and I really like it. I would buy it again.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Not bad

M330 bought from Amazon. First mistake. After 5 weeks the speaker was gone. It was probably during the 4 week warranty window when it failed but didn't catch it. I was told to send it to icom for service or take it to a local dealer and lie about how I got it. Lately I've been buying all kinds of electronics through Amazon. I will go to a local dealer who stands behind it.

Pros
  • normal price
Cons
  • defects present

Excellent quality choice

This is my fourth VHF marine radio purchase in several years. First, note that all the different brands (modern design) do pretty much the same thing. Sea band coverage, weather, DSC, scan, priority interrupt, etc. The last cheap radio I bought lasted five months when water got into the power/volume switch and blew it out (so long for "submersible to a depth of 1 m") ). This time I'm paying a little more for a famous brand that has never disappointed me in the past.

Pros
  • Useful for more than it's intended purpose
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

No built in GPS as advertised

When I was looking for a fixed VHF marine radio with built in GPS this was found, the price looked good, I didn't read all of it, my fault, it's done. There is NO built in GPS, it has to be connected to something that does it. The instructions say nothing either. I'm trying to figure everything out, my MMSI is on the radio now and you can't get it. This is NOT what I wanted but now I'm stuck. I'm not happy at all. If you want something with built in GPS, don't buy it.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Poor set
