🏞️ Clear RV Skylight SL2222-22" x 22" x 4" by ICON 01856 Review

We need the roof window in the camper we just received at the exit hatch is broken so we bought it to replace the roof and we are going to use a rear hinge and an aluminum L- Add bracket. Foam all around to keep the elements out. I could even use a door frame that has a seal all the way around and use it below us to sit on top of the sunroof and then add a latch to hold it closed. !

Excellent Product; Made in Canada I think. Dispatched and delivered within the promised time frame. It replaced a much taller white skylight that was an eyesore on my factory painted RV. The gap between the inner ceiling and the roof is a few centimeters, which allowed me to reuse the original inner half of the skylight that extends to the ceiling above the shower. The new Icon skylight appears to let in even more light than the original skylight.

Thick and strong polycarbonate, but flexible enough to follow the slight curve of an RV roof. I installed over a closed cell foam gasket to ensure a seal and seal (first picture), then applied a self-leveling sealant lap around the perimeter and a scoop to the head of each bolt. Almost perfect for replacing the escape hatches on a converted school bus. The quality is excellent and very strong! We've had one for about two months and so far it's holding up amazingly well with no issues. / We're still waiting for our outer tape to come in the mail to clean up our edges, but that's not too bad, I'd recommend using weatherproof butyl tape. The mating hole is smaller, so we had to add a piece of metal around the edges for it to snap into place.
