ICON 01857 RV Skylight SL2222-22&#34 Review

It was a near perfect replacement for the emergency exits on our converted school bus. The quality is excellent and very durable! Months and so far it has held up amazingly no problem./ Still waiting for our Externabond tape to come in the post to clean up our edges but it's not too bad I would recommend using weatherproof butyl tape which reduces the size of the hole, so we had to add a piece of metal to the edges for it to snap into place.

My 2013 Forest River Rockwood Frame Trailer has the same 26" x 26" skylight. It broke when my daughter sneaked up and sat on the skylight. The icon is much thicker and stronger than the original and would not break under the same circumstances. There are some differences from the original. The tint of the original is much deeper and doesn't show through like Icon's smoke. The original has no screw holes and is glued directly to the fiberglass. I bought this product knowing it would not fit but I needed to make it work. The product itself is good. I used this skylight to replace an old emergency exit hatch on a bus I'm renovating. I removed the old sunroof (the plastic became brittle with time and wear and it leaked). The hole measured 23 11/16 inches. Perfect square basically. I've looked literally everywhere, but since I live on a rural Alaskan island, the options were slim unless I wanted to pay around $500 for a custom skylight…
