I ended up buying two of these. Not because one broke, but to have another one somewhere else. They are great for tree work where fractions are commonly used, as you can get a direct display of the fractional dimension without conversion. I've compared them to my $120+ Mitutoyo and always get the same readings. Very smooth and not harsh like Harbor Freight calipers or other cheaper ones I've played around with for years. I've been using a Mitutoyo caliper for about 25 years, but it's only recently that it started giving insane readings.
