broke down in 6 weeks

Just got back from a Lexus dealership. Since failure of one spool in a set means trouble, I do not recommend you buy those cheap spools. Replacing coils with OEM ones cost me over $1500 after trying to save money on these coils. less than six weeks and the car misfired. Ignition coils and spark plugs replaced and now the car runs great.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Broadly ok but...

Easy repair at a great price

Local auto parts store searched about 7 times more for the same part! It took about 5 minutes to fit into my Lexus ES330 - luckily it was one of the cylinders at the front of the car so it was easily accessible. Comes with a sachet of clear silicone grease (I guess what you call it) - no instructions on how to install - so I found some videos on You Tube telling me where to put it.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Quality

Works great. I bought this one cheaper as it is the front of the engine. Works perfectly. No problem. The update from 11/25/2020 failed after about a year. I originally had 5 stars but I changed it. Cool lasted 10,000 miles. Here's my advice. If you're replacing one of the coils on the front of the motor, which literally takes less than 5 minutes, you can get by with one of those cheap coils. But if you're replacing the coil under the intake manifold, don't use those coils at all. I had twoโ€ฆ

Right side, right price - 10 months UPDATE

UPDATE - 10 months later still works great in my 2006 Highlander 3.3L V6. It took 10 minutes to set position 4 and it took so long because I was cleaning the engine cover. The fit was perfect. Reset the code and the new ignition coil seems to work exactly as it should - no problem. Appearing quality of materials may be slightly inferior to OEM part, but this does not affect fit or functionality. Of course, long-term (and short-term) reliability is subject to refinement. If I have a 1/3/5โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Minor issues

Quality part - great price and easy installation.

I actually worked as a car mechanic at the university on the side. I gave up repairing modern cars a long time ago as the complexity and lack of time and equipment made it impractical. When my wife's beloved old Toyota Solara started to misfire after idling for too long, I hooked up an OBD reader and found that the ignition coil on cylinder 2 was damaged. The last coil problem I worked on was a coil feeding the distributor, so this was something new to me. In short, I decided to regain my youth

Pros
  • Very fast delivery
Cons
  • Almost never
