Description of 🪓 The Competition Thrower: World Axe Throwing League Premium Competition Throwing Axe with Throwing Hatchet Hickory Wooden Handle

🎯MADE FOR AXE THROWING! Please note, you cannot simply use any axe for axe throwing. This axe has been specially designed & manufactured for axe throwing with its extremely thin profile and the sharpest blade you can imagine. 🎯16" Straight Handle: Our handles are built long by design. This gives them the ability to be cut down and adjusted based on throwing style, height, distance and weight. Cut in "1/4 increments and test thoroughly between cuts. 🎯Curved Blade Design: This axe is intended for beginner to intermediate throwers. Always check floors and targets. Ensure targets (mostly bullseyes and killshots) are free of knots that could damage or chip the axe blade. Ensure floors have strong enough padding, plywood or OSB. This axe is sharp enough to break through damaged flooring and damage itself on concrete underneath. 🎯Average Axe Head Weight: 1.65lbs. 🎯Average Total Axe Weight: 2.22lbs.

Bought 1, bought 2 more, 2 more, total 5

Great axe, if you want to buy an ax to throw you need this. I was looking for a good throwing ax and bought 5 different ones to find the best one. The WATL ax was #1P.S for me. small tip, help grind and grind the disc to get a much thinner blade than a real sticker!

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Throws well, blade is as brittle as glass and handle has knots

First of all, it throws great. from 12ft, 24ft and up [if you dare] it flies well and sticks well when thrown properly. However, the edge is VERY easy to damage, and the grip has knots in odd places that make you feel a little uncomfortable if you get a bad shot. Metal is definitely a weak point as it doesn't work well by hand. I'm sure the sharpener will deal with it quickly, but I'm sure the edge will chip and break pretty quickly.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Reliability

Required handles for knives and tools

I bought one of these and after 2 days of throwing I bought another one along with the kill shot. It turned out to be a good decision because on day one I had all three pins on the first split. I still like it but I need pens. I will glue and add tape until I get it or make it. Of course I'm a beginner, but I like to go all the way. I made a target to specs from a WATL websight and got some axes. I have thrown at the target a total of 3 times and need to replace the center board. I have these…

Beware of cons, there are better alternatives

I have purchased four throwing axes from this seller, WATL. Two axes had to be returned due to material defects, processing or assembly problems. Some issues were serious enough to cause harm to the user. I doubt I will buy more axes from WATL. If you receive a faulty ax from WATL, don't expect much from customer service. They really don't stand behind their products. They're going to get third-degree interrogation, they're going to ask for a lot of proof of the problem, and it's going to take…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Damaged

A good ax for beginners and a good backup ax for advanced throwers.

Looking at these axes (I bought 2) my first thought is that the handles need replacing. One of the handles has an almost perfect grain alignment (almost completely parallel to the tip of the axe), but the blows on it are a little closer. The other has a fiber orientation that is just over 45 degrees to one side and has almost no visible ridges. On the handle and on the ends are the arrow/triangle patterns you may see on the side of the handle. These two things correlate to the strength and…

  • There are some issues

Great throwing ax but too heavy for a one handed axe

I throw axes about once a week, I'm not a pro but I do it often enough to know what I like and don't like about this axe. . The ax is made very strong and I bought it because one of my axes of the same type broke at the handle just below the blade. I like that this one is about twice as thick at the connection point, so I don't think I'll have a problem with it breaking anytime soon. The blade came out very sharp and cuts into the boards like it should. I've even tried it on a very dry board…

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Volume
