Great idea, but the heating surface needs to be bigger.

Just got it in the mail yesterday. I was so excited. When you first get a wok, you need to burn the factory oil. But like my gas range, it only heats the bottom center wok. So, I have a wok with 25% spices. I was hoping this would provide a better cooking experience, but it doesn't work as well as my basic gas range. I know this because I had to use my gas stove to burn off the oil. Also, the fan for my stove is above the metal surface and I can't use this item on the metal surface, so now I…

Been looking for something like this for over ten years!

A lot of the dishes I cook involve a high heat skillet before cooking and this destroyed all nonstick cookware in a few months. I've also tried carbon steel flat bottom woks on both electric and gas stoves over the years. They work well but don't have the same cooking style as a round bottom (which I sometimes use outdoors). Works just like a wok

This is an amazing wok. I'll start with some negative reviews. Firstly, this is a carbon steel wok, not Teflon, so it has a protective coating that must be removed before cooking or your food will turn black. This is not a pan scrub. In the photo I posted you can see the pan after I've removed most of the black coating so the pan looks silver instead of black.
