Bought two and both changed aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3

I bought two of these cameras and I really liked them. They worked great. Both cameras now switch automatically from 16:9 to 4:3. I went into raspi-config and set the camera to 16:9 and also set the resolution. but no luck, it's still in 4:3 mode.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

The IR sensitivity is difficult to adjust.

Initially I was pleased with the quality and pictures of this camera, especially for the price. Then I started testing. Setting the IR sensitivity (which was not indicated at all on the packaging) is very difficult to set up, one cannot do without disassembling the stand. I've been playing with this for an hour now and couldn't get the IR lights to turn on and off automatically. If I don't make money soon, I'll give the camera back.

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • I don't have much dislike for it, it's ok

Seeing in the Dark and in the Light

The images attached here show the room's normal lighting and the lights off. Some light comes from the next room, but mostly from the illuminators in this chamber. Note that the blue spatula turns very bright in IR - not shown here, my son has a black shirt that turns white in IR. I didn't spend a lot of time adjusting the focus so you get a sharper image. The camera has tiny screws. So if you have dexterity or vision problems, you may need help. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Pi Zero…

Cons

The camera has no IR switch

This camera is kinda weird. I would not recommend that. Each of the two IR lights has a sensor that turns the IR light on or off depending on the ambient light. However, the camera doesn't have an "IR filter" so daytime pictures look terrible. Photo, camera on (left) without IR filter (bottom left corner of camera right).

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Cheap - Computer Components

So far so good. Image quality is decent and the IR still works. Not military grade, but definitely good enough for hobbyists and simple fixes.

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Pros
  • Compatible with all series, suitable for Raspberry Pi 4, Pi 3 B+ with 100cm FFC camera cable and suitable with 30cm FPC cable for Pi Zero, also can work with your 3D Printers work to monitor print progress

Working - only night mode Resolution HD

I use this camera for Oktoprint. The night quality is excellent. When the light is on everything is displayed close to greyscale and I believe it is permanently in night mode. I would give 2 stars if I knew more about whether Octoprint is the reason for the IR not turning off in daylight. I will give the camera the benefit of the doubt in this case. The camera also comes with 3 cables. I didn't see it in the description so I bought a 3.3ft cable which I don't need. (Not a big deal but would be…
