Very disappointed with temperature controllers

This isn't the first time I've used a PID controller. I've read the instructions and watched videos on YouTube on how to set it up. The device wouldn't hold the temperature, it would be +1.5 or -3.5 degrees Fahrenheit. My last PID kept the temperature at 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit. I checked the settings, even tried the autotune function, with no change in the result. Very disappointed.

Great little PID Controller

Purchased unit to install on an old lab oven to replace the 1960's analog control with a digital one. Use of an oven for powder coating of small parts. So far the device works very well with InkBirds 40A solid state relays. The oven draws about 8 amps at 120v. Works great and the 400F temperature set point stabilizes at 399F. Very happy with the controller.

This is a fantastic value and keeps the stone in a wide range.

This is fantastic value and stone durability over a wide temperature range. The installation instructions were good. The only thing I don't like is that it takes a long time to make big changes to the set value. like a few minutes to change it 300 degrees. I'm embarrassed to give 4 stars for this reason as multi-level programmable controllers like this are significantly more expensive.

Great reliable product!

I bought this to add a temperature control feature to my hot tub as it comes with a water heater but it is either on or off and not in between. When it is on, I feel the bath water temperature is too hot for me and my family. By installing this device I can set the desired on and off temperature. The biggest feature is that it remembers my saved settings. No need to fiddle with it after installation. "Set and forget!" Thank you for an excellent and well made product!

Easy to use, connect and program. Exactly.

Works great and reliable. The only caveat is that it's accurate for the temperature you calibrate it at. For example I use it to control mash temperature in beer making and I have calibrated it to 67ยฐC (152ยฐF) and it is very accurate at that temperature but when the temp drops after boiling and I up fermentation temperature cools (20 ยฐ C to 68 ยฐ F) then the reading of the measured temperature is not very accurate. This may be the temp sensor I use, but the temp sensor is a quality product andโ€ฆ

All-day accuracy, even after operating the device in a warm panel.

They are very accurate and hold the temperature very well for many hours of use. No temperature slip, even if the device heats up in the control panel. I bought them after having many problems with the MYPIN brand. They get very hot and over time experience jumps in temperature - 1-2 degrees per hour. MAIPIN is terrible. Inkbirb's PIDs are excellent! I am very happy now! I use them for home brewing in an electric panel I built. After a full day of grain cooking (about 8 hours), they stayโ€ฆ

Bought a pair of these to control an electric smoker and eventually a wood fired BBQ smoker. I had high hopes but have never been able to tune the PID controller parameters for satisfactory performance. This is probably a great controller for many applications, but I've had issues with my process - an integrating, not self-adapting, heating process. I'm an electrical engineer and I've been very careful in taking accurate and controlled measurements on my open loop stove. I used theseโ€ฆ

Dangerous failure mode possible - buyer should beware

Let me first say that this controller might be fine for some applications, although I think it might be inaccurate in its temperature readings. However, I cannot recommend this controller for 240VAC applications, even though the manufacturer rates it for those voltages. It might be fine for 120VAC, but are you lucky? And you? The BIG issue I have with this temperature controller is the power supply inside the controller and the design flaw it has. I installed this temperature controller in aโ€ฆ
