I have another similar device, but it does not have LED lamps. The LEDs on this model are very bright and I suspect I'll get better battery life as well. It's easy to remove with a pin if you use it during the day and don't want it on your boat. I installed it on my fishing kayak as I like to fish at night and be seen by other boaters on the lake. In some regions you are required by law to have this on your kayak when going out at night.

Pros
  • Consumes 90% less energy than an incandescent lamp
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

The base is rather weak and the light too!

In that light I'm a bit disappointed. First, the "rubber" base sits very casually on the counter. Undulations or even gravity, as in my photo, make the light vibrate everywhere. If the base was higher, thicker, or harder, everything would work better. Second, the light isn't very bright. It doesn't hurt at all to look directly at it in the middle of the night. My other boat practically blinds you. And finally, I'm not sure what exactly is meant by "inflatable" in the current description as…

Pros
  • Threaded cast brass mounting sleeves
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I have owned at least four pairs of these lamps. I buy them again and again and use them like any disposable item. First, trust that they cannot stand in the sun. They don't stop the rain. switches fail. I've had LED models and incandescent models, and LED models don't cost extra because I've never had the light itself last as long as the batteries. (Except for leaking water, which ruins batteries.) Why do I keep buying them? I mounted a stern light on a stainless steel tower so the…

Pros
  • Heavy duty sealed on/off switch
Cons
  • No automatic controls
