My Inogen came with an AC adapter to charge the battery 'on board' as I'm sure everyone else does. The charger comes with a redundant AC power supply for power. Now you have two! It's ok if you have multiple batteries, it's very expensive for it's capabilities but I'm glad I have it. I should also mention that this seller offered it at a cheaper price compared to other sellers. Now that I've had it for a while I think it was a waste of money. The battery will only work with one type of Inogen battery and this charger is taking too long to charge the battery. A built in charger or oxygen concentrator is much more efficient and faster. The charger works great but the connector pins are bent and the plastic key tabs are broken. I sent the first one back because the box was open, the pins were bent and the plastic buttons were broken. When I got the replacement parts they came in a sealed box but the contacts were bent and the buttons were broken. Charging is not tied to anything and flies around the box, bending contacts and breaking plastic keys. I straightened the pins and the keys are no problem. If you buy a charger, check
