Description of ๐ŸŽจ InstaMorph Pigment Pack: Enhance Your Moldable Plastic Creations!

Package contains four brilliant colors: red, yellow, blue, & black. Mix colors to create a rainbow of different colors for your next InstaMorph project. Requires original, white InstaMorph to mix into as a base. Specially formulated to work extermely well with InstaMorph, but can also be used in other moldable plastics. Extremely Powerful! Only a few pellets are needed to color a tablespoon of InstaMorph. There is enough of each pigment to color an entire 12oz bag that color. Cleaner than powdered color additives, as the dye is locked in the beads and only release when mixed with InstaMorph. No mess!. InstaMorph pigments are made in the USA.

Grandkids LOVE it.

I finally got around to using it. Actually my granddaughters. A 13-year-old girl made her own teeth for Halloween. She's a great artist at first, but she looks really scary with paint and shape tools (expected result). Animals rendered 6 years old. When you do this, take plastic, pigment, and shape tools. This is a beautifully wrapped gift for someone with an imagination.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Secret

I've used them with both ThermoMorph and PolyMorph molding resin and they work great. I've managed to create custom colors that are almost identical to the ones I'm trying to customize. The only slight downside to this is that I've found that if I try to make a really dark/concentrated color and add a few colored granules to a small amount of white granules, after mixing the color, the resulting plastic (even after the reheating) becomes slightly harder and appears to cure faster than plasticโ€ฆ

  • Acceptable

Important color note!

The colored balls are pretty strong. Here's how to create ANY shade from a subtle pastel to a rich color. Never add colored spheres to your project as you cannot control the intensity of the color, like how to turn a fairly light cranberry into something light pink that will produce a colored sphere by itself? BRIGHT . When your paint pellets arrive, and even before a project begins, make 4 paint strips or circles out of each paint pellet and thin enough to cut with scissors. Now that you areโ€ฆ

Amazing things to learn

I've been using InstaMorph for a few years now and enjoy working with it. I've found that having a hair dryer on hand is key to keeping everything looking sleek and professional. It's pretty cool to be honest, although it's a bit difficult to use at first. I have found that mixing the desired amount of colored granules with about half of the desired translucent and then mixing that into the other half makes the mixture easier to mix. If you're using more than 1 tablespoon, you'll need to breakโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Mass modeling
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Some people have mentioned how to flatten pigment grains and cut off chunks or strips for Instamorph coloring if you want more color control or don't have deep colors or need less intensity than just a single grain. you get if you don't use much more base product than you need. I would advise, especially if you are planning to make multiple things and want them all to be the same color, not to mix colors in the Instamorph base product but to mix colors first. I usually take about 10 beads ofโ€ฆ
