Difficult to read accurately

I bought this liquid filled pressure gauge to monitor the water pressure in my home. This seems accurate enough, but it's very hard to read when you have an air bubble distorting the image from about 35psi to 60psi. I wonder why they didn't fill it completely with liquid when they assembled it at the factory. It makes it worse, to say the least.

Pros
  • Bourdon tube type, brass and copper alloy wetted parts, polycarbonate window lens
Cons
  • I can't remember

Nice fluid filled gauge

Have a pair of these gauges (center mount) to replace old gauges on my Craftsman 25 gallon air compressor. I love it so much I also got a top mount version of this gauge for my new portable air compressor I'm retrofitting as a project. Fittings 1/4. You will also need a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter to fit a standard air regulator. This increases the height of the sensors. Sturdy, well made and not that expensive.

Pros
  • Stainless steel case
Cons
  • So far so good

Worked Once - Gauges

Made it to -29 inches once and as the system equalized to atmospheric pressure the needle returned to -10. I pressed the top rubber vent lightly to even out the reading and the needle went back to -5. On the next use the needle went through 30 and almost to zero. I know my pump can go down to about -29.25 inches. So when the needle stops moving, I know I'm there, but a lot can change between 29 and 29.25, so it's relatively useless.

Pros
  • Dual Scale: Psi Inch / Bar indicating kPa.
Cons
  • Long Shipment
