Amazing speed - priced at

I bought 2 of these drives for two of my computers: - MacBook Pro 3.1 (Santa Rosa) 2.4GHz late 2007 and - ASUS ul30vt, from 2010. The drive has, unfortunately for ME, problems with BOTH computers. First, it's based on Sandforce, which doesn't work well with Mac. I found this the hard way as my system would randomly and intermittently hang for 30 seconds to a minute without provocation. He just doesn't like Macs. Second, the problem I can't identify is when I put my asus ul30vt to sleep (after a

Great ride for the money!

I totally agree with Brian Foreman's review of this product. I bought this drive to replace a Kingston SVP200S3 that was installed at my computer shop on June 1st, 2012 and has already started to fail (< 3 months)! Checking the Intel and Kingston websites gave me a lot of information about the superiority of this Intel SSD. I also purchased the EZ Upgrade 3.0 EZ Gig clone kit from Apricorn from Revain. Cloning my still working but bug-prone Kingston was flawless, and installing a new cloned…

Surprising, especially if you go for HDD

I was skeptical about buying an SSD. Especially after so many claims about their reliability issues have surfaced on the internet. I bought the 330 as a Christmas present for myself and installed the OS on January 26, 2013. As of July 1st of this year I haven't had a single problem with the drive as my computer is running 24/7 most of the time and I sometimes host servers for old video games. The operating system boot time on 64-bit Windows 7 is approximately 23 seconds. However, my BIOS gives…

Incredible upgrade for an old PC

A few months ago I added an SSD to my office workstation to handle some large programs and GIS files. I was amazed at how well my computer worked after the upgrade, although the rest of the components are pretty decent by today's standards: quad-core processor, 8GB RAM, Windows 7 Enterprise. When I bought a 3rd gen i7 laptop I was disappointed with the boot speed in comparison and started looking for an SSD for it. I replaced my 2008 Dell 530s desktop with my laptop, although using the laptop…

Super Fast!: Internal SSDs

I resisted the urge to get an SSD for a few years and finally made the switch. I held off until the MTBF increased significantly compared to a while ago. Also, the affordability trend has made it very tempting. A trusted friend just installed it and reported amazing performance, so I figured it was time to jump in. The short version boils down to this: Using Intel OEM/Acronis Migration Assistant made this complete easy migration from an existing Windows 7 installation on magnetic media to this…
