Amazing improvement on my 6 year old Dell laptop

I wish I understood this many years ago. Our old Dell Inspiron 15R model increased the download speed from 30 Mbit/s to over 200 Mbit/s. The dual channel solution was correct. Installation was easy (including prying/lifting the keyboard out of the case). I did it once, so I had a rough idea of how it works. You need a small slotted screwdriver. A plastic tool might be preferable, but I used a small jeweler's metal screwdriver and worked slowly. There are small holes on the sides and top of the…

Works and is a great replacement

I have a laptop that is 7-8 years old. This is Gigabyte P25. Over time, the WiFi card lost its ability to connect to our WiFi. I was looking for a substitute for an exact match. My WLAN adapter also had built-in Bluetooth. I stumbled across this card and saw that it was almost an exact replacement. There were some cheaper brands out there, but I figured it was best to stick with what worked on my old laptop for years. I was glad I did. The device was well packaged. It was wrapped in bubble wrap

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Good but not great

It only works with Linux. Very happy with the speed.

I added this to an ASRock Q1900-ITX motherboard that sits in a small fanless case and acts as a multimedia interface for the MythTV home theater. I had a TV that I wanted to add MythTV functionality to, but its location would be inconvenient to run an Ethernet cable, so I settled on this wireless module that plugs directly into a small form factor motherboard. The box is running Ubuntu 16.04 and Linux has just been installed on the device. It works without any problems or installing other…

now i have miracast

after jumping through hoops only to find that neither wifi card is considered valid for my hp envy m6 1225dx can NDIS 6.3 do not support, and therefore no Miracast supports my computer. I found that by searching the product number, this Wi-Fi card not only gave me what I had, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but now I have my screen on my Miracast-enabled Roku wirelessly, so I need it no more HDMI cable or my dogs stumble. Why do they have to complicate things? PS? you hear? obviously not. but now I still…
