Added Safety

Yes, most of my electronics are individually protected with surge protection bars, but really. much meaning. The spring, summer and winter storms are accompanied by lightning and we are at the end of the rural power grid, or should I say antenna, caused by the storm. We needed it badly while living in Texas. Now that we live in Tennessee, this will be the first thing we will install in any future home.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Legacy Model

Perfect for protecting my home

Perfect for protecting my home which is often struck by lightning here in Central Florida. Have an electrician install it! Incorrect installation is dangerous.

Pros
  • Same as before
Cons
  • Good but not great

Basic surge protector without overpriced

This SPD, a surge protector, has the right properties to mitigate normal surges that occur at the input of the power supply. You can pay more for lower rated devices on the market, or you can pay a lot more for slightly higher rated SPDs. but if the overvoltage can be suppressed then it will do all that is to be expected - no SPD will prevent a direct lightning strike! SPDs are now recommended by the National Electrical Code for protecting service entrances. So it is advisable to follow this…

  • Good product for the price

The previous model saved my house

I laugh at the Amazon website that asked me to rate the convenience of this surge protector. I had an earlier model on my switch box for 20 years. Eventually he got a really good squirt and he sacrificed himself to save my electronics. So I bought this one to replace my old one. This is easy enough to install for one person to comfortably fiddle around in the switch box. However, this should not be done by someone unfamiliar with electricity.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Operating speed

Easy to install and (hopefully!) adequate protection

Individual experience is the only "real" way to appreciate the protection this device offers. In the previous house I got tired of losing lightbulbs when storms swept through my area. We were lucky: not a single piece of high-tech electronics was lost! After installing the previous product in our home: Will! No more burnt out lightbulbs! After moving into our new home, I immediately ordered and installed this surge protector for my whole house. It sits quietly to the right of our switch panel…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Cheaper than replacing your electronics

If you live in the south, spring and summer thunderstorms are common. After a very tight and very violent, we realized that our pool equipment was not working properly. Called our pool equipment guarantee and they came out to look. The panel and pump appear to have been electrocuted. We didn't have a strike directly on our property or anywhere nearby that we could detect, but agreed that it appeared to be caused by a lightning strike. Even though the company replaced the devices, they…
